Model Number: 106.53632300 Brand: Kenmore Age: 1 - 5 years
On Monday there was a burning smell around the refrigerator. We could not figure out where the smell was coming from. Last night, my son went to get ice cream and everything in the freezer was defrosted. I thought that maybe the door wasn't closed so I left it over night. This morning everything was still defrosted and when I opened the refrigerator I noticed that the items were no longer cold. The motor cooling fan is working and the freon tank is hot to the touch. There is no smell of anything burning and no sign of any burnt wires. Can you help us diagnose this problem?

Unplug the refrigerator and let the compressor (you call it "freon tank") to cool down. Remove the start relay on the left side of the compressor (#16 on the diagram) and replace it with the new, redesigned start relay/overload kit. If it would not help then the compressor has gone bad and has to be replaced.
- The start relay/overload kit Part number: AP3083556 Gene.
