I recently replaced water inlet valve with replacement part W10408179. However, now evaporation tub keeps fiiling up with water in about a day and overflows. Any reason for this ?

Hi.

The evaporator tray is there to collect the water dripping down from the evaporator during the defrost.
If it's overflowing check the water lines (may be some water gets into the tray).
Open the evaporator and check if the coils are evenly covered with frost.
Clean the condenser coils with brush and soap (like Simple green deluded in water). Unplug the fridge before doing that.

Thank you. Post the results.

Hi Simon,

Your suggestion was right. Upon closer examination, I have found that water is dripping into evaporator tray from tip of the water filter housing, where two tubes connect to it. May be something got pulled when I detached these tubes from old water inlet valve and connected them to new water inlet valve. I would appreciate if you can suggest any way to fix it.

Thanks again for your help.

HI.

Try first to push in the tubes. If that doesn't help, remove the tube by pressing the skirt around it and reinstall it back.
If that still not working, remove the filter housing and the tubing and check if there are any cracks.

The filter housing Part number: 2186443
Part number: 2186443

Good luck. Post the results.

I reinstalled the tubes in water filter housing. I also do not see any cracks on the filter housing or tubes. However, water still keeps leaking from where tubes connect to filter housing.

Is it possible that replacement water inlet valve is defective or is not compatinle with original part ?

Thanks

Hi.

I highly doubt that the water valve is at fault.
Try to replace the water line first and if that not going to help - replace the filter housing.

Thank you. Post the results.
