The Auger Motor for ice dispencing is not turning in my GE side by side. The the last time it worked, the ice bin was full of ice that was all frozen together. We mistakely kept trying to depress the lever for ice and it was grinding and grinding away, seems like we over worked it. Now when we press to despence for ice, the motor does not turn at all, but I can hear the switch going on and off on the control board very time we press for ice. Can sombody post instructions on how to replace this Auger motor. And could it be another part that controls the motor, please supply part number. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi.

Before replacing the auger motor you should check first if it's getting 120VAC.
Remove the ice bin, the shelf, screws and turn the panel with auger motor over to gain the access to the motor contacts.
Then using the multimeter check if there is 120v at the motor with lever pressed and door switch closed.
If the voltage there - replace the motor.

Thank you. Post the results.
