Icemaker won't turn off

Model Number: 5989JA1005D Brand: -other- Age: 5 - 10 years

LG icemaker, part #5989JA1005D will not stop making ice. Overflows basket. Arm remains in upright position at all times. Is the unit fixable or must I replace the icemaker? Thanks
