GE Freezer just stopped running.When i plug it in it will hum for about one min. thes stop humming .The light still stays on so i know it still has power . i dont know how to check it out NEED HELP.

Hi.

First you will need to check the compressor.Unplug the unit.
Using the multimeter check the continuity between the 3 compressor contacts. You should read the resistance.
Then with one test lid touch the copper tube.
If there is continuity - you've got the bad compressor.
If not, then get the relay/overload combo.
Follow the instructions to install it.

The relay/overload Part number: TJ90RCO810
Part number: TJ90RCO810
