Was on vacation and came home to a broke frig.
The control panel was off, no lights, but interior lights were on.
No fans blowing and no cooling.

Ordered and replaced the main board, AP4436216 (WR55X10942).
Now, Temp control panel started working, inside fan started blowing, evaporator fan started but compressor is not running. The relay attached to the side of the compressor, it will click 1 time every few minutes.

Not sure what took out the main board but all the other appliances in my kitchen had a power cycle and lost time. Could have been a power surge??

Can you help troubleshoot?

Pry off the start device from the side of the compressor. If a white box it's probably bad. If you shake it and it rattles, replace it. If you have a meter, measure resistance across the lower two compressor pins, if open, that confirms it, AP4300623

Not white but it does have a rattle.
When you say measure the pins resistance, do you mean on the module I pulled off or the compressor itself? This compressor, and module, has 3 pins, the 2 TOP pins are across from one another. The compressor shows around 10 ohms from any pin to any pin. The module measures open from any pin to any pin. I may possibly be measuring a capacitor, looks like the meter may be charging a cap.
None-the-less, based on what I'm describing is the module the bad item?

Yes, measure ohms across the top, round output pins from the start device, should be beteen 5 and 10 ohms.

Good new is, got it working. Thanks a ton!
Never could measure resistance on the 3 round terminals of AP4300623, even with the new part. The old part is bad but I couldn't prove it.
Regardless, your advice was right on. Thanks. Saved me a lot of cash.
