Any help with an ice maker that stopped working for no apparent reason. We have turned the freezer off, let it defrost with the hope that the intake was frozen (though the water dispenser continues to work), and this didn't seem to work. Tried adding water directly into the ice cube tray hoping that this would cause it to resume working. No luck. We have a repair person scheduled to come see it in 5 days but would love to fix it ourselves.

My ice maker quit working suddenly last week. My husband took the cover off the end of the ice maker and found that a wheel that turns the paddles that moves the ice was broken. I have order a new part and hopefully this will take care of the problem.
