Model Number: PSC25PSTA Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
My GE Profile Arctica fridge has stopped working. First the ice maker stopped making ice and dripped water all over the freezer. Now it neither side will stay cold. I turned the temp way down but it is still warming up. It will despense water fine. There are no blinking lights. IT is 3 yrs old so not under warranty, I think. I'm a little disgusted thinking I need a new fridge after only 3 years. Anyone have any information? I tried all the trickis in the manual and online GE. NOt sure if I need to call the repair man.
So after purchasing a warranty and scheduling a service visit- for next week- I came down this morning and find the freezer has made a batch of ice, is 0 degrees, and the fridge is at 34. The fridge was 48 when we went to bed. Should I wait and see if it happens again before having it looked at? I can cancel the warranty within 3 days. I'm just wondering if it was sign something is wrong and will come back. It hadn't made ice for two days. Ads By Google Related Models Last edited by brianap : 09-03-2009 at 07:46 AM. You need to check to see if the compressor is running.
Check to see if there is heavy frost on the back wall of the freezer. Open the freezer door for three minutes and see if the fan in the freezer comes on. Make sure the fan down next to the compressor is running. Post what you find and we will help from there. Refrigerator repair guide |
