Had Sears repairman come out about a month ago. Replaced the icemaker and Sub Motor F. A couple of weeks ago, our freezer began thawing things a bit, it doesnt stay cold enough to completely freeze ice cream.

We turned it on and off- just freezer part and sometimes will get a bit colder but still not where it should be. Frig part is fine.

We called the Sears guy back again , since under a 90 day warranty. He didnt even look at back of freezer/frig, just checked the temp with his lazer gun temp checker and said we need to replace the compressor. We did not replace it yet. He seemed a bit sketch.

Does this sound right? If so, is it something we could order ourselves and replace. We are rookies when it comes to refrigerators. Some advice?

Thanks,
