I just bought a house and it came with a GE tpx24brdabb fridge freezer. I replaced the water filter and then the water line that was leaking and turned on the water to start making ice. When I come back 3 hours later there is a bunch of water that has leaked out the bottom of the ice maker by the light bulb and has frozen. It looks like the water valve is not closing and its causing water to splash all over in the freezer so I go ahead and replace the water valve (link below). I got it all put back together and turn the water back on. Check back 2 hours later and same thing is happening again. Is is time to replace the icemaker as well? Any other ideas out there?
