Hi,
Our unit will not cool every few days until it is unpluged for some time(30 minutes). Sometimes moving the temp control is off and on is also needed. All other functions appear normal. I understand that this is made by Whirlpool. I suspect that I need a new defrost control board.
I was able to sucessfuly complete a manual defrost. (Power off, temp control off, Power on). The heater did come on for about 11 minutes and then it turned off. I moved the temp control and the compressor came on normally. I conclude that the heater is ok, the bimetal is ok, the temp control is ok, and the wiring is ok.
Do you sugesst changing the timer board? It is marked 2187448 cpc-e94v-0

Yes, I would order a new adaptive defrost pc board. You can call the number they give to order, your model # is not covered by this site.
