I have a Whirlpool Conquest Model GS6SHAXMQ00. Its's not making ice. When I first took it out to examine the ice maker unit there was ice in the maker slots but not full cubes. I removed the maker and cleared the ice out. I put the unit back in and the rotator moves but no water in filling the tray. SHould I try getting a new ice maker? and that will fix the problem? or is it something in the water refill spout that comes out of the roof of the freezer? The water is on and comes out of the front of the door. so What do you think I should do?

Hi.

Most likely the problem is with water valve. Switch around electrical plugs at the water valve and then press the water lever at the drinking fountain. If water start to fill- replace the water valve.
Make sure that inlet tube is not frozen.

The filter water valve Part number: AP5263471

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for Whirlpool GS6SHAXMQ00 REFRIGERATOR | AppliancePartsPros.com

Thank you. Post the results.

Simon.

Is there a way to order the whole ice maker assembly? Or do I have to purhcase and put it all together? I have now busted the end off the Ice mold and this whole thing is pretty tired and old looking. Thanks for the first tip. I tried it and the water still came out of the front of the door. The way you made it sound, as I switch the wires and pushed the water on the front of the door, I thought water would fill in the ice mold but it didnt. It came out just the same. No change. Im confursed so how about lets just replace the whole unit. Please let me know if I can get that assembled.
Thanks alot

Hi.

If you decided to replace the icemaker anyway here

The icemaker Part number: AP3182733
Part number: AP3182733

Don't forget to replace the water inlet valve. You have the part number.

Post the results.

Simon.
