cycles on and off quickly
Model Number: ET8CHKXKB00 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
Whirlpool refrigerator w/top mount freezer - compressor (cycles) off and on quickly at certain times. sometimes hear something click when comes on again. Refrigerator and freezer are cooling okay. Have already replaced the starter/overload relay and bimetal defrost thermostat but still have this problem. any idea what is causing this?

You probably need a new cold control AP3133073. Either that, or the control has a missing plastic sleeve that acts to increase hysteresis (dead zone in temp. response).
