After several ice melting incidents and nothing else showing defrost issues_

I turned off ice maker and filled bin with ice from anoher refrig. Worked OK for a week and then opened freezer and ice had melted and formed a huge stalagmite in the freezer. There was no evidence of anthing else melting in the freezer and the refrig compartment was at corect temp. I have repeated this three times so I must assume the freezer where the icemaker is located gets warm enough to melt the ice allowing it to drip down and re-freeze in the compartment below. This has to happen in 24 hours or less and appears to be unpredictable. Ideas please???
