my ice maker wont dispense ice water works hear and see it spinning but it wont dispense ice from the front. i think the rod is too short might be missing a spacer to make it long enough to go into the gear?

Hi.

To determine where the problem is remove the ice bin, press in the light switch and push the ice lever. If the shaft is turning look at the bottom of the ice bin.Check the coupling.
Check if you can see any ice around the shaft or coupling.
Reattach the ice bin. Make sure it locks.

Post the results.

Ive done all that I think I know where the problem is its under the bin the shaft isnt long enough to turn the gear under the bin.

Hi.

The shaft itself cannot shrink.Check the ice bin coupling and mechanism.

Post the results.

Hi.

Did you press in the door switch before energizing the ice dispenser?
If you did and shaft is not turning, remove the cover located under the ice shoot inside the freezer door lining, remove the motor, remove the holder and the shaft.
Again with the door switch pressed in turn the dispenser motor on. Motor turns - check the shaft, coupling.
Motor doesn't work - replace the motor.

Post the results for the part numbers.
