any help on creative ways to make inside door parts?
Model Number: GTS18XBMBRWW Brand:
More than 10 years
The bar restraints for the inside door of this refrigerator are missing. I can order replacement parts for $112.05. I think that is too much to invest in a refrigerator this old (20+ yrs.)
Does anyone have a suggestion on making do with a creative repair....like using an aluminum bar, bending the ends to place in the holes....but then how best to secure the bar? Would you bend it so it sticks out from the door enough to accomodate a gallon of milk? Or would you put it tight against the supports?
I've thought of using something like "great stuff" in the holes and perhaps a screw from the side but I don't think it would be easy to line up with a hole in the aluminum bar (inside the refrigerator opening) and don't think drilling from the side through the aluminum a good option.
