i BOUGHT A NEW DEFROST TIMER FOR MY HOTPOINT SIDE BY SIDE. i CAN'T GET THE OLD TIMER UNPUGGED SO THAT i CAN PLUG IN THE NEW ONE

A model number may help others help you.

If the problem is that you cannot get the wires (females) off the old timer then:
Unplug the unit.
Take a small flat screwdriver and place the blade between the timer body and the curled side of the female connector.
Then twist the screwdriver to force the connector up and off.
You may have to work back and forth between the two sides of the connector.

Make sure to jot down which wires go where.
