Model Number: ESH25XGPABB Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
Good Day!
Love my refrigerator and works perfectly until recently. Water filter has been changed regularly and always well maintained. Seems the line located on the bottom left of the rear of the refrigerator, behind the back panel has completely broken in two. Almost like it was cut with scissors, however, no one has had access to do such thing. I believe when I replaced the filter it caused excessive water pressure which caused the line to split. In any case, I believe it can be repaired using a quick connect elbow type fitting. I have already made 2 trips to Lowes, both of which were unsuccessful. I have tried the recommended 3/8" quick connect elbow fitting which was just a bit too large. Today I tried the recommended 5/16" All-Tube Union with Inserts compression fitting, which was a joke. I installed it according to the directions and water still squirted out, barely missing my face. The 2nd gentleman was very nice and helpful, but either he didn't have a clue, or I can't figure out how to install the fitting. I realize I am a woman, but I do have some sense about me. Seems that GE has intentionally used 5/16" tubing just to make things difficult, as it is definitely NOT standard tubing. Is there any place that I can order a 5/16" quick connect fitting? Preferrable elbow? Or is there another way for me to repair this? I do not have "access" to a plumber nor do I have the funds to hire one. (Single mom of 5 sons and husband who decided to leave to have his 3rd affair Thank you so very much for your time. Jocelyn Ads By Google Related Models |
