Over the past several months BOTH sides have experienced periods of high temps-19 in freezer and 49 in fridge. After a couple hours, temps return to normal. Not I can't get temps back to a normal zero/38 degrees after re-cleaning the coil at bottom. The unit is in a built-in enclosure so I can't see the back and pulling it out requires door removal since there is an obstruction at the front. Last night and this AM temps are now 21/51 and it seems to be going bad fast.

Door seals are fine...fan at bottom coil runs....what to do?

Just turned the unit off for a half hour...temps still at 21/51... hoping they'll drop? After turning on the fans and compressor are still running. But what to do next?

Does the fan inside the freezer work properly?

I understand this is a huge headache, but the refrigerator should be somehow pulled out of the wall not only for condenser cleaning which is a part of regular maintenance. The most common problem with these GE refrigerators is a faulty main control board which is on the back as well.

Thanks, Gene. I blew out the condenser coil yesterday and freezer dropped to zero overnight, but now it's climbing back up to 10 this AM. Not sure what's up now?

Temps reached 20 again by noon today and are now going back down to about 8 degrees...still heading downward, I believe. Does this sound like a bad board?

Do the fan next to the condenser and the fan inside the freezer work properly?

Sure...no problem with those. Seems to put out a LOT of heat around the compressor, even after cleaning.

Remove the rear panel in the freezer and check how the evaporator is covered with snow. Normally it suppose to be 100% covered with thin snow. If it's not then it can be a problem with the sealed system. It could be low on Freon, a restriction somewhere or a bad compressor. If it's less than 5 years old then it could be under the warranty.

After pulling the unit out, I see there's no way for air to get in the rear grill next to the coil. I'm thinking I need to open up a hole in the enclosure box back there and get more air to that area.
