I just replaced an ice maker and a water inlet valve in a side by side kenmore fridge. Should the ice maker fill immediately after fridge is plugged in and water is turned on?

Hi,
It may take awhile to fill depending on what part of the cycle the ice maker is in.
If the old ice maker did not fill with water either you may want to check to see if the water line between the valve and ice maker is frozen shut.
