KitchedAid refriegerator was leaking from the bottom around the area of where the water filter was located. When I opened the bottom grill and turned the water filter cartridge cap into a vertical position, the leakage stopped (probably because the water supply to the refrigerator is shut off once the water filter cartridge is turned into a vertical position). I will replace the water filter but am wondering if the leakage is actually caused by a defective water filter or could it be one of the water pipes that goes into the refriegerator. I was leaning towards the water filter being defective as the leakage stopped when I turned the water filter into the vertical position.
Any insight will be really appreciated!

It can be because of broken water filter or broken O-ring on the end of the filter. A new filter comes with new O-rings. - The water filter Part number: AP3182816
