Water from frig has bad taste
Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
The water has a rubber or plastic taste, I have changed the filter many times to no avail. I had the icemaker repaired and asked the Tech. but he had no answer. Anyone have a solution.

Hello.
This is a long shot but I did have an issue like this several years back and their issue was actually caused by one of the water lines lying on the compressor just before the line went up into the bottom of the fresh food compartment. Relocating the water line away from the heat of the compressor made the water taste much better. I don't think this was a widespread issue as I only saw it the one time. It's worth checking out.
