Ice Maker
Model Number: GS5HAXNL00 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
I have a Whirlpool side by side, model GS5HAXNL00.The water to the ice maker keeps running and overflows. I unplugged the ice maker and the water continues to run so I'm guessing it's a valve issue.

You are on the right track. Most likely the problem is a bad water inlet valve. If you need the correct part number, verify and repost the model number.

It is located on the back of the refrigerator. You will see the water lines connected to it. Do not forget to shut off the water supply for the refrigerator before doing anything else.
