I found water on the shelves in my fridge this morning. I believe the water filter had a malfunction. I changed the filter and didn't notice a problem.
Now the big problem is my duel control board fried and the label panel warped.
I assume I will need a new wire harness as well.
I'm comfortable replacing these items but I do not know what caused the flood. Could the Damper controller or the evaporator fan been the culprit?
I also worry the the base water filter could have just gone bad. If i buy a new one will an o'ring come with it or must i buy that separately?

The answer on your first question is: definitely no.

On the other side a bad water filter base can be the culprit. O'ring can not be purchased separately.

I see the wire harness would take some time to get to me; think the likelihood of being able to reuse the same one is good?

Did you see a real damage to the wire harness?

Yes there is damage to the wiring harness. Turns out there was a small electrical fire at the duel control board connector; the wires are fused to the board.

Think the rest of the unit could be damaged from this trauma?

Yes the duel digital control is flashing 4 on the right side.
I'm told this is the compressor.
Is it safe to say i need to replace the compressor?

Flashing 4 on the right side points to a problem with the damper control.
