I've got an Amana Regrigerator Model # ARS9168AB (Year: 2000). A couple of days ago, it started making a buzzing noise for about 10 seconds and then a click. After about 2 minutes, it would repeat. Research here (and other places) suggest either a bad relay or a bad compressor. I bought a "Relay and Overload Kit" (http://www.********************...ad-Kit/W10189190/1481748), but I think I bought the wrong one (even though this was listed as the part for my refrigerator).

My current refrigerator as a 2-piece relay and overload. I thought the part I ordered was just a newer, compact (but backwards compatible) version. However, in my fridge I have a blue and black wire leading to the overload and three wires (black, gray and white) leading to the relay. The part I bought only has two connectors available.

Some other searching on Amana refrigerators lead me to this part (http://www.********************...oad-Kit/12002794/1378508). That looks almost exactly what I have (even down to the cover).

Did I buy the wrong part? Can the part I bought be used in my Amana refrigerator? Thanks!

If your present parts are exactly like the ones posted by Simon, then note which wires go where on the old device and order it here. This is the best way we can help you as using a different device can lead to compressor failure if wired wrong,or it just will failt to work properly.
