Model Number: TNX22 Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
Ice maker stopped working 1 month ago. I didn't think much about it at the time. After troubleshooting, I discovered 2 weeks ago that the freezer was not cold enough. Freezer is about 20 degrees and Refrigerator is about 50 degrees.
What I've done: 1. Cleaned underneath the refrigerator with a long brush and shop-vac. I waited several days - no change. 2. Defrosted the freezer (there was ice on part of the coils in the freezer). Waited 2-3 days - no change. 3. Fan in the freezer running. Checked the vent in the refrigerator and air is getting pushed into it. So far, no change in the temperature in the unit. I do have some ice that was made in the bin, but not very much at all. Tonight I pulled the Refrigerator out and cleaned the back panel of dirt/dust. The compressor is warm and the fan by the compressor is running. I looked underneath the frig just in case I missed some huge clump of dirt/dust. Any troubleshooting suggestions? Thank you very much!
