I have an Amana refrigerator freezer with the freezer on the bottom. Fridge and freezer are both warm. Lights work. Fan works when i turn on freezer from off position. Compressor currently not running, but will sometimes cycle on for a few seconds and then shut off when i turn freezer control on from off position. Compressor does not respond to change in frig temp control. Did not notice any frost buildup, although the unit stopped working overnight so by the time we noticed the problem, ice was completely melted in the freezer compartment.

Sd, At this point, I would have to think you may have a start relay and /or capacitor problem Part number: AP4013414
and Part number: AP4074064
You'll need to move the fridge out, so you can get behind it, remove the lower rear access panel, plug the power cord in and listen to the compressor start and run or of it makes a click noise instead. Heres a post from the APP Repair Forum, that will assit with some basic checks and tests. http://forum.appliancepartspros...-fridge-not-cooling.htmlThanks and Good Luck, :) :) :)
