Model Number: pss26mgpa Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
I need to replace the drive coupler ( WR17x11459) located at the back of the dispenser bucket. It is plastic and split apart. Where can I download instructions for disassembly and reassembly of the dispenser bucket assembly? Thanks for any help in this matter.

There's no a lot of ice bin information, But, this may help, " Remove the upper ice bucket tray. Slide out the ice dispenser assembly. Remove the ice cube solenoid linkage Phillips head screw and slide the linkage back. Remove the ice crusher cover Phillips head screws (2) and remove the cover. With a pair of pliers, twist off the backing plate tabs located on either side of the crusher. With 2 small flat-blade screwdrivers, unlock the ice crusher locking tabs located at either side of the ice crusher. Lift the ice crusher out of the bucket. Remove the ice crusher back cover. Remove the locking ring from the ice crusher auger. Remove the plastic nut with a pair of pliers by turning it clockwise. Remove the spacers and blades. The blades are numbered for reassembly." You should now be able to remove the auger shaft and drive cup from the rear of the bucket and replace the part. Thanks and Good Luck,

Those instructions are spot on but there are pictures and a video on this page that may help you.
Ice Dispenser Repair For GE Refrigerators Just as a side note I believe the part you are replacing only requires you remove the crusher from the ice bin and you don have to remove the blades off the auger. |
