Our freezer went out and we replaced the standard electronic temperature control/defrost timer. Everything started working again, however the temp of the freezer never got to freezing each time before it cut off. The original part # was 297079800 and the new part # Sears sent was 297079400. They said this was just a substitute part # and it came up in the computer when they put in our #. The part plugged in and looked very similiar to our old part, but it had refrigerator on the front panel. We questioned the part orderer about this, but he said it was the right part. He said there may be something wrong with the part and ordered a new one--but he said it will be just like the one we had just tried.

So I was wondering if maybe something was really wrong with the 1st part he ordered or if this type part is used in refigerators too and they just sent the wrong thing??

Thanks
Tracy
