Default Kenmore Refrigerator
Model Number: 25358682893   Brand: Kenmore   Age: 5 - 10 years

This is a side by side. My refrigerator top section is warm 50deg but the bottom section of frig is working. Also, the freezer is fine. Where do I start?

Did you see any frost on the back panel in the freezer?

Gene.

Hi Brad,

The problem with your fridge is a faulty defrost system.

You can find the diagnosis instructions in one of my previous posts: Freezer is fine, refrigerator is too warm.

- The part number for the defrost timer (#23 on the controls break down diagram) is AP2111929

- The part number for the defrost thermostat (#21 on the system break down diagram) is AP2150024

- The part number for the defrost heater (#14 on the system break down diagram) is AP2114071

Good luck.
Gene.

Gene, Finally getting back to you. The problem I discovered was no continuity across the defrost heater. Defrost timer and thermostat are fine. I will order the defrost heater, install and get back to you with the results. thanks for your help! Brad
