After a series of power outages, our water filter does not work. Looks like the ice maker too is not producing ice. Tried a new filter and water fills the filter then stops (filter is under high pressure). Pressing the release ejects the filter under pressure. Water is getting to the filter and into the filter, but stops from there.

Thanks,

Paul

Hi, Paul.

Most likely the water filter housing or water reservoir is frozen inside. What is the exact measured temperature at the back of the water filter housing and at the back of the big crisper?

Hi:

Thanks for replying to my post. It was 35 degress behind the water filter, so I turned down the temp overnight and it was 42 in the am. About 38 behind the crisper

Hi, Paul.

Adjust the temperature to around 37 degrees, but first you need to defrost the refrigerator for 24 hours with both doors open. Make sure the water filter is out.
Please, post the results.

Thanks for the suggestion. It may take us several days to get the fridge down where we can defrost it.
Thanks again and I'll let you know how we make out.

Hi:

Well, no sooner did I get the fridge down enough to prepare to defrost and it now works. I pumped the water lever 3-4 times and all of a sudden, the water started coming out. I did get a piece of a black slimy substance that came out though. Maybe that was clogging the line? Not sure how that got in there. Seems to be working though.

Thanks again for your help/suggestions

Paul
