Default GE Profile Arctica Not dispensing water
Model Number: PSC23MGMAWW   Brand: GE   Age: 5 - 10 years

We have a GE Profile Arctica that makes ice but does not dispense water. My husband took the relay assembly in the back out and tapped the relays. After putting it back together it worked for about a half hour then quit again. My Dad put us onto the relay because he had a Kenmore that did the same thing. Do you think it's the relay or something else and should we just replace the whole assy. for easier repair?
Thanks...Belle

Also, I saw a similar issue with another person and you mentioned replacing the filter. I'm just curious as to whether the filter wouldn't keep the water from going to the icemaker also. Thanks again.

Your tank may be frozen up... or your lines. There's a kit you can buy to prevent this from happening. Take a hair dryer and heat the tank. First, pinch the water lines leading to and from the tank. If it is frozen up, you'll be able to tell by pinching the lines.

I have a GE side by side with water and ice dispenser. The water will quit dispensing. What I found the problem to be is the water line in the door is frozen. I cut a panel out of the inside of the freezer door, cut away the insulation and used a hair dryer to unfreeze the water line. You can test to determine if the water line is frozen. At the bottom of the freezer door there is a connection that is easy to take apart, then activate the water. If you get water running at that point, your line in the door is frozen.
