Most likely the problem is the clogged and frozen drain behind the back panel in the freezer.

Remove the back panel, defrost the drain using a hair dryer and clean it using hot water.

If you need the break down diagrams, post the complete model number of the fridge.

Best regards.
Gene.

I have a Model # KSRD25FKWH03 KitchenAid Rerigerator. I have a sheet of ice that forms in the bottom of the freezer periodically. From what you said, to fix it I need to take off the panel in the INSIDE back of the freezer compartment. Once I do this, it will be obvious where the drain is that needs to be defrosted and cleaned out?? Is this correct???
Thanks,
Arturo

Arturo,

The drain hole in your refrigerator is in the center of the drain pan under the evaporator coil behind the rear panel in the freezer.

Gene,
I figured it out earlier this afternoon. Like most repairs, it takes more time to take the covering apart than it did to fix the drain. (Had to take the shelf supports off so that I could get the cover off so that I could see the drain.)

I used the hair dryer to melt all the ice in the pan and some of the ice in the actual drain hole. Then, I used a medicine dropper to drop very hot water into the drain hole until it finally cleared to drain. (At least there was some water in the pan underneath the refrigerator finally.)

I appreciate your getting back to me. Thanks for your tip.

Arturo

You are welcome. I'm glad you were able to fix it.
