water drips into main cabinet during defrost cycle. defrost drain line is clear. any ideas ie. defrost timer or control

How did you check the drain line? Have you removed the rear panel in the freezer?

I poured hot water in the back of the freezer compartment after I took the back panel inside the freezer off. water ran out of the bottom of the fridge into the evaporator pan.

There suppose to be something wrong in the freezer compartment or with the drain line (a hole somewhere or something like that). There are no other ways for water to get into the fresh food compartment.

Thanks Gene I'll try and find it next time I'm at that house. It just sort of drips in where the air blows into the main cabin when the defrost cycle runs. I think some areas like that panel I took off get frosted and the drip into the fridge during the defrost.

One more thing to check. If the door seal is broken and the door is not sealing properly then it could be a condensation.

Gene, One time when I was at the house I noticed that the ice in the bin had melted and refroze. Would that mean anything to you? Thanks

this could be an indication of a defrost timer problem.

There are a few different things which can cause it. Watch it closer and post the results.
