ge make gtr11aaparww

i have had this refrigerator since 2006, works pretty good, replaced defrost burner and defrost timer in 2006. this time i dropped 3 ice trays in freezer, didnt clean up rite away"pouring cement" came back in acouple hours later and it all was defrosted. cleaned it out let it rest acouple of days. started back up??????compressor comes on "a low hum" set control knob on medium, light is on . will turn off when i depress door switch. evaporater coil starts icing up. "evaporater fan will not run" took fan out of fridge and it works great hardwired and plug into ac" freezer will get down to 25 and refridgator down to 60-70 at the coldest. tested defrost burner does come on and defrost thermostatseems to be working also. replaced defrost timer.can put into defrost mode and it seems to be working ,compressor seems to be running at a low hum, tested start relay it has cont . and the overload protector rattles when i shake it. i think my next step is to replace overload protector???? i dont now what im am doing and would appreciate any insight and help.
thank you patty

If you have a freezer door switch, it might be bad, not suppling voltage to the evaporator fan motor.

Your evaporator fan motor gets it's current throught the defrost heater and defrost thermostat. One or both are bad or a wire got disconnected. Pull freezer panel and check.

thank you for answering my post
i check out defrost thermostat, i believe its good. put everything back together.to test defrost heater . started refrige i hour ago.decided to let it cool first. fan is still not working. put in freezer seperate fan to help circlate air. freezer is down to 20 degrees and refrigerator at 70 right now.defrost timer " which i just replace" is moving forward. my question is i'm concern about compressor, i hear it humming not a normal run sound.when i place my hand on top of compressor cannot keep on passed the count of 5 without burning. i have another fridge that is working great. roper same basic style. it is running in cooling mode right now and i can keep my hand on it without being burned. will i harm refrigerator buy let it run? 1 was trying to get a full cyle to rule out defrost timer, defrost burner, and defrost thermostat.
thanks patty

If your compressor is hot, you might have a bad condenser fan.
