KitchenAid Ice Maker Not Working
My KitchenAid model# KSCS251 quit making ice. Their is no water coming into the ice maker. I checked and have 106.1 Volts in points N & L. Water will dispense in the door. Swapped wires for solenoid valve in back and pressed for water in door and water filled ice maker.:) One response to posting said short out T & H to start motor for half turn. When I short out T & H nothing happens no sound. The light on the inside of the door goes blink blink pause blink blink pause. So is 106.1 Volts enough? Not sure what to replace please help.
On this model there are two sensors that somewhat shoot a beam across the freezer to detect if the ice bin is full or not. You can do the test you are talking about (jumping from T to H) but you have to unplug the refrigerator and jump out T-H. With T-H still jumped close the door, plug the refrigerator back in and wait 5-10 seconds. By then the icemaker should be going through a cycle and if not replace the motor/modular.
If the icemaker completes a cycle and doesn’t run water replace water valve. If the icemaker completes a cycle and water enters the icemaker the sensors may be bad.
There is a flap on the opposite side of the refrigerator straight across from that blinking light. Press that in to unblock the path between the two sensors and then see what the light is doing. This page will explain more about the sensors Whirlpool Icemaker Repair Guide
