Default Maytag Refrigerator
Model Number: MF12568AEQ   Brand: Maytag   Age: Less than 1 year

The motor on the Ice Maker on the door sounds like it's continually running, all the lights on the panel are blinking and if I push any of the buttons, nothing happens. I have unplugged the wires going to the door and replugged them in 5 minutes later and the time/temp display works but after a few minutes, the motor sounds like it's running again and the lights are back to blinking. I was working on the plumbing to the house and had the water turned off for 30 minutes, could this have anything to do with it?

Default Maytag Refrigerator

Mine is doing the exact same thing, only I was not working on anything that may have caused this (i.e. shutting off water.) I came home from being out for 2 hours and mine is identical, looking for help!

Default control board

is your flapper opening and closing? If so you need the new improved control board. Maytag made the transformer on the control board to small. the control board is in back of fridge. If still under warranty call for service. or call whirlpool maytag and let them know. they will know right away about the under size control board.

OKBOBCATS,
Thanks for the help, you were right on target. Changed out the control board and it works just fine.

Thanks again.
