The icemaker will stop two times during the icemakeing cycle. There are two time during the cylce that shut off arm raises. The arm will not go down by itself. After i push the arm down, the iceamaker will continue on and make ice.

There is a spring inside the icemaker that pulls the arm down. This spring is broken. The spring is easy to replace but I am not sure if you can get it or not because some of these icemaker parts are not available. If you can’t get it you might try a used appliance dealer they often have old icemakers for parts.
