I am problems with the ice maker and no ice.......and I see post about the optic lights. Mine do not seem to work at all....tape the door switches closed, turn out the lights and I see no lights there, no blinking...nothing.

If this is out will the ice maker still make ice? This light is what tells the ice maker it needs ice correct?

What is the trouble shooting procedure to determine if the optics are out? just visual check?
