GE Profile Arctica PSS27SGPA. The freezer temp is fluctuating between -6 to 15. The ice is melting and then re freezing. The express thaw light is on at 3.0 lbs but no fan is blowing. When you push the thaw botten it cycles through the lbs with the fan on an the turns off after 3.0 lbs. and the light goes away. When the door is reopened the light returns at 3.0 lbs. I have unplugged and defrosted the unit, cleaned the coil in the back on the bottom. I am handy . Please help!

I need more info. When the temperature rise, what is not running, compressor or evaporator fan?

Both the condensor fan and the evaporator fan were running. I did find a small leak in the water inlet valve and water in the pan below it. I turned off the water so there is no more leak and no ice but the original problem persists. I will replace the water inlet valve Part Number: AP3192626.opened the main board compartment and it looks ok.

Your compressor migh be intermittent, pull out the motherboard and look for bad solder connections behind the big power relay.

The solder on the motherboard behind the largest black relay does look bad. I will order and install a new motherboard and let you know if it works.

Replaced the mother board and water inlet valve. The 3.0 lbs light is off but the freezer temp is still erratic ( -6 to 18 to -6).

Somthing is causing the erratic temperatures, unless the freezer is empty.

PSS26SGRAS:
Problems began with freezing produce with the freezer compartment maintaining zero degrees. Based on some posts replaced the mother board only to discover the damper door drive pivot post was broken. Took the damper apart, super glued the pivot post, reinstalled it and all was well. Ordered a new damper assembly and returned the mother board. New damper arrived and now I have the express thaw 3.0 lbs light on the freezer temp holds at zero or minus one and the produce side holds at thirty six. Only complaint now is the express thaw light / cycle. About to re-install the repaired damper and see if the problem goes away. this is crazy.
Must add. Sometimes the express light is on (when the door is opened) but no noise from motors / fans. With the door open switch cheated the light is off.
