Freezer and fridge sections got too warm. Found a little bit of ice build up in freezer behind panel. Replaced defrost thermostat, as I thought it was the culprit. Compressor was running and the evap fan were running too. Did not solve the problem. Replaced cold control. 99% sure I wired it right, but now all that happens is the light in the fridge comes on. No evap fan, no compresser kicking on? What did I do or miss? Any thoughts anyone?

Was the cold control you installed a new one?

yea it was. Talked to Frigidaire and they said it maybe the wire(ing?) harness. I just don't quite understand how or why that would be, unless I somehow hooked up the cold control wrong, which then caused...an electrical surge which fried my fridge? The compressor worked at least before I switched the cold control. Does that mean the wire(ing?) harness was the initial problem then? I have now tried the old cold control just to see if I can get the compressor to kick on, or something other than the light to happen, to no avail. $85 into it for parts now, which sucks. And I dont have a multimeter lol

I would use a multimeter and wiring diagram to troubleshoot the problem. Only you know what you did with the cold control. I would start at the compressor and check for voltage and trace it back if I had no voltage to figure out why.
