Unit built in 2001. The ice maker is quirky. If the freezer control is turned on 4, a seemingly appropriate setting based on ice cream firmness, not much ice is made. If I turn up to setting to 5, more ice is made but it freezes the cubes in back of the pan together into a clump. I have changed the water valve already and I'm not adverse to changing the entire ice maker unit but need some assurance that I am on the right track. Maybe i just need to junk this one and get a new one. Not going to get on site evaluation of a refrig this old.
