My ice maker is making ice but the harvester arm is not able to remove the ice. It may also be frozen in there with excessive water/ice. I assume this is a heater problem as the heater is not providing melt to allow the harvester arm to deliver the ice to the bucket.

Removing this ice maker seems complicated versus removal of a interior ice maker on a top freezer unit. This is a side by side unit with indoor ice and water.

I defrosted the unit last night and the harvester arm went through it's rotation but it was back to step one when I checked it this morning.

Suggestions on the appropriate part/parts and how to do the install would be much appreciated.

the problem I'm having is not the heater system but with the ice maker's control module.

This appears a simple fix however I cannot even get the ice maker out of the freezer

I saw this video link but my ice maker is not like this.

Any tips for removal of this particular model's ice maker?

Removed it at last - what a terrible design. It appears it is the heating element as it had corroded away on one side of the ice tray.
