Question Which ice maker water valve to order?
Model Number: FRS22ZRFW2   Brand: Frigidaire   Age: 5 - 10 years

My ice maker is not filling with any water. I hear the "buzzing" coming from the lower cabinet which tells me the coil is getting current but the valve must be stuck and is not opening to supply the water to the ice maker.

I've removed the cardboard cover at the back, exposing the compressor and associated equipment. I can see two sets of two valves; one set is on the right where the large water supply hose comes in. I also see another set of two valves on the left hand side at the back of the fridge.

Which set of valves do I replace or do I replace both sets?

Before replacing any parts I would recommend to check the water feeding tube coming into the ice maker. It could be frozen up. You can defrost it using a hair dryer.

- The part number for the ice maker water valve is AP2114949

- Here are the break down diagrams for the Frigidaire refrigerator Model FRS22ZRFW2

Good luck.
Gene.

Mine is doing tihe same thing, I checked the feed valve (green, yellow) it had very low pressure comming out of it. Good pressure at supply. What would happen if i bypassed this valve? and supplied good pressure at the secound valve? Why have two valves that feed the same line?
Let me know if you find any thing, I'm going to work on mine tommorw again.

JAFO, I replaced the valve unit (looks like two valves) with a new one. part number was as above stated by Gene: AP2114949. My ice maker is now working just fine. I did not take the old assembly apart, but I suspect it was caked up with solids from 10 years of use. Hope this helps.

Check the fill tube in the freezer, probably iced up. If so, your freezer temperature might be too cold.

Hi bugsdoc1,

If you already replaced the following water valve

and you are sure the water feeding tube

is clear and the water filter is fresh, then the second water valve

has to be replaced.

- The part number for the water valve is AP2114865

Gene.
