I purchased the Ice door Kit (AP3595356) to replace a broken support that holds the flapper door for the ice shoot on the freezer door.

The kit comes with a "delay", which is a plastic cyclinder tube that snaps on a clip next to the shoot....It has a small plastic stick with a round end coming out of it...I can not figure out what this attaches to or what it is for. The original piece appeared to just be unconnected in place as well.

Anyone know what this might be for?

It connects to the ice door and holds the door open for the delay time to give the ice time to exit the chute so it can shut.
