Freezer is not defrosting. Repairman said that it needs a new defrost timer and thermostat. I know where the thermostat goes but can't find where the defrost timer is. Both look like easy parts to install, just plug in. I would love to save the money and do this by myself. Can anyone assist me? Thanks, Mel

I appreciate your help. To clarify, is the defrost timer "in the back at the bottom" next to the defrosting coils below the thermostat? I'm not seeing it. I don't see it behind the kick panel either. Thanks so much for your help! Mel

I've pulled the back off but still no sign of the timer. Could it be behind a silver plate that is bolted down under the kick plate?

Yes, Looking at the diagram it appears to be directly in front of or behind the compressor. I can't tell if the compressor is at the back edge or front edge. If compressor is at the back the timer is behind the kick panel on the right etc.

I have the replacement part for the thermostat 10442411. I double checked the numbers. The original part is 10442407 and is replaced with the above number. But there's no way to connect one of the two wires. The original thermostat has a circular connector and the replacement part is a rectangle. Now what?? Thanks.

You can just cut the ends off and fasten together with caps or buy a male and female connector and crimp them on and plug it up.
