Unhappy All sides of refrigerator are hot to touch
Model Number: GR-242MF   Brand: -other-   Age: 5 - 10 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
I just moved an LG refrigerator from a nearby apartment into mine. The unit was never on its back, however, a bit of fluid (I'm not sure what, but it looked simply like water) came out of the back when it was tilted into the truck.

I have waited around ten hours to plug it in, and it seems to be working fine, however the back, front (around the doors where the seals are), and parts of the sides and top around the doors is extremely hot to the touch. I have unplugged it again for fear that something is terribly wrong. The maker is LG and the model is GR-242MF. CAN ANYBODY PLEASE HELP ME??? What is wrong with this unit??

Make sure the condenser fan underneath with the compressor is running. It has to, to remove the heat from the unit.

Pull the fridge/freezer out from the wall and remove the cardboard panel from the bottom and you will be able to see the fan and compressor etc.

You can tell if it is running by feeling for the air without removing the panel.

Ok, there is no cardboard panel....I see a big black thing that begins to hum when I plug it in, a bunch of wires, and a lot of dust. This unit is secondhand, and the seller did not have the user manual, so I'm not sure if I'm looking in the right place...but it is pulled out, and that is what I see. I can feel no air when it is plugged in, and it only takes seconds for the back of the unit to get really hot. What do I do??? help, please

OK, I will need to have a model number to work with. The one you gave doesn't match any on file. Model Number Locator
