Default freezer works Frig is warm
Model Number: 596.76052700   Brand: Kenmore   Age: 1 - 5 years

Well I cleaned the coils, checked the fan and went through the service manual settings/ checks and I just placed a thermometer in the there. I don't know how lowthe temp will go. any insights let me know

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent between the freezer and fridge.The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp ..


If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

i have it in the forced defrost mode to see what happens. the condenser in the back is fine I just don't see the flap i see the connection between the fridge/freezer just no air is coming through.
thanks. I also checked the control board diagnostics and it said that the defrost thermometer is shorted or closed. let me know
