Refrigerator & Freezer Repair

We started noticing a few days ago that the ice seemed to be melting, but then would refreeze. So we unloaded the freezer and turned it down as low as we could (we could not turn it off without turning off refrigerator too). We turned it back on this morning around 0800, and at 2pm the water in the ice maker was still water. The fan has been running all day, and now the items in the refrigerator seem to be sweating. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Check the back wall of the freezer to see if it has ice behind the rear panel.

I checked behind the rear panel and there does not appear to be any ice buildup, nor have I seen any standing water in the bottom of the freezer since turning the temp down yesterday.
