Model Number: 253.67172504 Brand: Kenmore Age: 1 - 5 years
The refrigerator has been without power approximately two weeks due to lost of electricity. When the power was restored, the refrigerator and freezer remained lightly cooled even after turning it up to coldest setting. I turned it off and unplugged it then back on, it sound like the compressor starts but it still blows lightly cool air in the freezer. What could be the problem and can I repair it?

Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath the fridge is running.
Is the compressor motor near that fan running. Are the coils warm ,cold or hot. Is the evaporator fan in the freezer running. Below the evaporator fan is the evaporator coils. Remove the back cover in the freezer to observe the frost pattern. stopped up? clear? ice in one spot . frost everywhere. |

I have checked the condenser fan at the back underneath the fridge and it's running. The compressor motor near the fan don't seem to be running and the copper lines coming from it are warm and the coils are warm. The evaporator fan in the freezer is running and the evaporator coils are clear and light cool. Would the problem be the compressor or another componant?
